Our Staff

As teachers at the Sonshine Patch, we really enjoy having FUN right along with the children. We have been given the unique gift of being able to minister as well as teach and it makes spending time with these precious little ones and each other an extra privilege.

Mrs. Samantha Grebe

Samantha joined Sonshine Patch in 2014 as a teacher in our Socialization class. Now, in addition to teaching both Getting Ready for Kindergarten and our Socialization class, Samantha serves as the Director of the preschool. She is trained in Love and Logic and uses it daily with her four children. She and her husband, Ted, are parents to Ethan, Emma, Eliza–all Sonshine Patch graduates–and Everett, who currently attends Sonshine Patch. Samantha received her degree from the University of Wisconsin Platteville, where she also worked in the UWP Children’s Center. Previously, she worked for the Janesville School District as an after school teacher, parent liaison, and program director.

Miss Becky Mansur

Becky joined the Sonshine Patch teaching staff in 2012. While working towards her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education, she is soaking up each step along the way and cannot wait to share with the children what she is learning. Becky has served as a day care teacher and a nanny for many years, continually striving to have a positive impact on the lives of children through the use of Love and Logic. She loves to craft, Zumba, and spend time with her friends and family. Becky attends Heartland Community Church in Rockford and is passionate about finding community in everyday life.

Mrs. Nicole Wilke

Nicole joined the Sonshine Patch in 2015 as our Socialization class teacher. She and her husband are parents to Annabelle and Cael, both Sonshine Patch graduates, and Seth who will attend this year in the socialization class. Nicole received her Associate degree from Blackhawk Technical College. Previously she worked for the Milton School District as a substitute aide in the elementary schools. She loves to ski, cook, bake, travel and spend time with family and friends.

Mrs. Jessica Peterson

Jessica is thrilled to be joining the Sonshine Patch staff this year as a teacher in the Getting Ready for Kindergarten class. She and her husband are parents to Brayden who currently attends Sonshine Patch. Jessica received her Bachelors Degree from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. She has a true passion for children. In addition to working with them in a professional capacity, Jessica has done a lot of volunteer work over the past several years that has focused on the growth and development of children. This includes volunteering in the church nursery, teaching Sunday school, co-leading a Christian ministry geared toward reaching children in the intercity, and teaching horseback riding and Bible knowledge to middle school girls. Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, taking photographs, being outdoors, scrapbooking, and DIY projects.
